I’ve been looking forward to this wedding since I met Christine at the Spring Wedding Show back in April. She and her twin sister, Steph, stopped by my booth, chatted for a good half-hour, and were really, really funny. Dainius and Christine planned their Toronto wedding from Montreal and Halifax, so there were a lot of emails back and forth (including Christine-esqe phrases like “okie dokie”, “a-ok”, “neat-o”, and “WHEEEEEE!”), and I got to know and love them. They met in grade five. She’s a pastry chef and he’s in the military. They’re going to move to Europe next year…and they’re traveling there by ship.
There’s an amazing energy about these two, a real sense of journey, a timelessness, and a profound respect. I knew spending the day with their crew was going to be great. So, I’ve been counting down to Christine and Dainius’ Big Fat Lithuanian/Ukrainian Wedding for a while. Boxes and boxes of cream-filled doughnuts, a killer playlist, a silly-walking bridal party, the most beautiful gold church, a hero’s ring, families, traditions, two cakes, and tons of beautifully spontaneous singing.
It’s my pleasure to share some of the photos with you. (They are a beautiful couple, no?)
