Remember Josh and Cindy from their CNE engagement portraits? Well, their wedding was just as fun. Josh, Cindy and I started the day at on the grounds at the McMichael Art Gallery. (The beautiful aged wood behind them is Tom Thompson’s original cabin.) When we finished their portraits, we returned to The Venetian for their ceremony and reception. Josh and Cindy had a bridal party of twenty-five people, (twenty-five!), and that crowd brought the party. I was lucky to have James of Mister Pictures working with me during the reception, and between the two of us we caught some pretty wild moments. Before Josh and Cindy entered the reception, Josh traded in his glasses for contacts out in the hall. He explained that the horah was bound to get crazy, and when I laughed, Cindy very seriously told me “No, really, make sure you’re safe in there.” I’ve never seen a groom spend so much time in the air – lifted on a chair, body-surfing on the gaggle of groomsmen, and tossed in the air on a tablecloth – and all before dinner! Josh and Cindy, if the rest of your lives are half as fun as your wedding day, you’re in for a great ride!
Josh’s niece decided she should be the one to stand in the centre of the chuppa…..
They literally had a cheese cake – layers of delicious brie, chevre, and and applewood smoked cheddar….mmmmmm.
